Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of your favorite bread (such as sourdough or whole wheat)

  • 2 tablespoons of butter, softened

  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese (or cheese of your choice)

  • 2 slices of mozzarella cheese

  • Optional: add-ins like sliced tomatoes, cooked bacon, or caramelized onions

Instructions:

  1. Begin by preheating a skillet or griddle over medium heat.

  2. Spread one tablespoon of softened butter evenly over one side of each slice of bread.

  3. Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, onto the heated skillet.

  4. Layer one slice of cheddar cheese followed by one slice of mozzarella cheese onto the bread in the skillet.

  5. If desired, add any additional toppings like sliced tomatoes, cooked bacon, or caramelized onions on top of the cheese.

  6. Place the second slice of bread, butter-side up, on top of the cheese and toppings to create a sandwich.

  7. Cook the sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  8. Once both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwich from the skillet.

  9. Allow the sandwich to cool for a minute before slicing it in half diagonally.

  10. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious grilled cheese sandwich!
